Br. Ahmad Hraichie, “the Muslim Undertaker,” visits Al-Maghfirah
Sydney funeral director Br. Ahmad Hraichie, known as “the Muslim Undertaker,” visited the Al-Maghfirah grounds and urged Minnesota’s Muslims to support the ghusl facility.
Brother Ahmad Hraichie, the Sydney funeral director known across Australia as the Muslim Undertaker, came to the Al-Maghfirah grounds in Castle Rock Township during his October 2026 visit to Minnesota. Standing on the land, he called on the Muslim community to support the construction of the ghusl facility, where the deceased will be washed and shrouded before their janazah and burial.
Few people know that work as closely as he does. He took a job at a funeral home in 1996, at eighteen, and today directs LMA Islamic Funeral Services, part of the Lebanese Muslim Association in Sydney. He has washed, shrouded and buried thousands of Muslims, and on TikTok and Instagram he shares the realities of death and Islamic burial with millions of followers.
Why the ghusl facility matters
Phase One of Al-Maghfirah, the burial grounds, roads, parking and landscaping, is complete and paid for. The cemetery cannot begin serving families until Phase Two is built: the Masjid & Ghusl Center, with rooms for washing and shrouding, a prayer area for Salat al-Janazah, a community hall and offices.
Br. Ahmad was in Minneapolis for The Final Departure, an evening on death, grief and the promise of reunion, for which Al-Maghfirah was a community partner.
