From vision to reality: Phase Two construction is under way
Construction of the Masjid & Ghusl Center began on September 10, 2026 at Al-Maghfirah Muslim Cemetery in Castle Rock Township, Minnesota.
With years of dedication, perseverance and community support, Al-Maghfirah Muslim Cemetery is becoming a reality. Construction of the Masjid & Ghusl Center began on September 10, 2026, on the cemetery grounds in Castle Rock Township, near Farmington.
The building is Phase Two of the project and the last step before services can begin. Designed by LSE Architects, it brings together everything a family needs on one site:
- Prayer hall — for Salat al-Janazah
- Washing facility — rooms for ghusl and kafan, washing and shrouding the deceased with privacy and dignity
- Family space — for families to gather and receive condolences
- Offices — administration and coordination with masjids and funeral homes
Where things stand
Phase One (roads, parking and burial grounds, with 5,000 burial lots prepared on five acres) was completed in June 2025 and funded by the community: $1.4 million. Phase Two needs a total of $2.3 million, and every gift now goes toward completing it. Together, we can finish.
